Nutrition is the science of food that explores the interaction of nutrients and other substances in food in relation to growth, reproduction, maintenance,  health and diseases in an organism.

Good nutrition is achieved when all processes involved such as – food intake, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, catabolism and excretion work efficiently.

Good nutrition is an adequate, well balanced diet which, when combined with regular physical activity – is a cornerstone of good health.

Poor nutrition can lead to malnutrition, reduced immunity, increased susceptibility to disease, impaired physical and mental development, as well as reduced productivity.
